He's a lot more active inside, but he's so damn short. 6'7 isn't a good height for big forwards.

Now getting Amare Stodemire for the 8 would please me.

    From ESPN:
According to sources, the Wolves are asking the Bobcats to give up the No. 8 pick along with an undisclosed player. In the proposed deal, Garnett would go to Phoenix, and the Suns would send Amare Stoudemire to Charlotte. The Bobcats would also be required to take Suns guard Marcus Banks.

Jared Dudley from ESPN Insider:Chad Ford's Analysis: I can see why Jordan likes this guy. He plays hard. He plays with passion. He has a great basketball IQ. He doesn't do anything great, but he knows how to play, and his shooting has improved. But I do wonder how well he fits on a team with Walter Herrmann and Adam Morrison.

Draft Projection: Late first to early second

Similarities: A poor man's Shane Battier

Positives: Great basketball IQ and feel guy who just knows how to win. His best attribute is the passion and energy he brings to every game. Excellent rebounder for his size. Big hands and long arms make up for his lack of size. Solid midrange jumper. Good effort defender.

Negatives: He lacks an NBA position and NBA athleticism. Plays more like a four, but is the size of a small forward. Not a deep three-point threat. Lack of lateral quickness limits his game on both ends. Lacks the ability to take his man off the dribble and struggles defensively with quicker players.

Summary: He doesn't really look anything like an NBA player. However, he's been so productive the last three years for Boston College he's hard to overlook. He's a leader, possesses all the intangibles coaches look for in players and could find a niche coming off the bench on a good NBA team.

Only thing about Stodemire that worries me is that micro fracture surgery

He appears to have fully recovered.

Not crazy about the pick - mainly because they are getting to be a laughing stock with all the Tar Heel connections, but --- Wright was the best available and unlike Collin I think his upside his huge. But just like Marvin Williams who hasn't done much so far in Atlanta I think it will be 3-5 years before he really shows what he can do. He has to get bigger, tougher and learn to shoot. All those things will come with time.

That's the thing with all these kids going pro so young. They have to develop in the league instead of in college. Only the dedicated ones ever will. They won't get the coaching and instruction like they do in college. If they don't make the effort to get better on their own they'll be a bust.

He'll make it. Just hope the fans give him the time it'll take.

Don't assume that because the Bobcats drafted Brandan Wright, that he'll ever play here. I hear they're working hard right now to move him on to another team.

And if they drafted him for trade bait that's okay too. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if they trade Sean May too or instead. May is a good player but he will be a part time player his whole career until his knees/back/feet give out which will probably be five years down the road.
