Sean May was drafted 13th overall in a weaker draft before he had enormous injury issues. Trading him for the 17th pick in a loaded draft would be an absolute no-brainer, which leads me to believe that the offer was never made. Lots of rumors get tossed around this time of year which have no actual truth to them. For instance, the oft-mentioned Garnett-Stoudemire-picks deal was never actually even discussed by the three teams in question.

    When and where?
That's something for people more knowledgeable than me to judge.

I had never heard of Monta Ellis before this popped up. Of course that does not mean much since I do not follow the NBA too closely.

Monta Ellis is worth considering. Problem is he's either a shoot first PG or an undersized SG. He came on strong last year. There was even an offer on the table that was being considered by the Hawks that was an even swap Monte Ellis for the #11 pick.

Them getting involved in the possible KG move is what stopped that. But considering the value you've gotta think Ellis plus the 18 isn't bad at all for the 8.

I began looking up stuff and, for what it's worth, Golden State turned down Ellis straight up for the #11, and they've also denied that they would use him to move up in the draft.

May's averages are a lot worse than I thought. wtf 58 games in two years?

Anyway, he had a nice stretch in December where he shot a high percentage. I'd say it's still too early to give up on him but he doesn't have much longer. I don't think highly enough of May to not draft a PF at 8 should one be there (very likely).

Monta Ellis is a hs player who was a 12th man his first year basically. He looked VERY solid for GS this past year though, and would make a great running mate with Felton. He played with Baron Davis so he's already proven he can co-exist with a shoot first guard. The problem is, like Collin said, I have a hard time believing he's on the table. He's still such a young player, I don't see why they would move him unless they don't think they can sign him next year.

According to sources, the Wolves are asking the Bobcats to give up the No. 8 pick along with an undisclosed player. In the proposed deal, Garnett would go to Phoenix, and the Suns would send Amare Stoudemire to Charlotte. The Bobcats would also be required to take Suns guard Marcus Banks.

The Bobcats have been offering the No. 8 pick to various teams for weeks and have several offers. If they can't get something worked out with Minnesota and Phoenix before the draft, the Bobcats will likely move the pick in another deal, a source said.

As long as the unnamed player isn't Wallace/Felton/Okafor I do that deal 10 times in my sleep. Of course, it's probably one of those three. I don't think I'd trade either of those three plus the 8 for Amare, as much as that hurts.

    Crap. That doesn't sound desperate.
