I saw the first one and thought it was hokey. The whole tongue in cheeky adventure movie thing does not do much for me. I would rather see straight up adventure movies.

Exactly how I feel. To me, the scenes that are supposed to be funny, people almost seem to laugh out of obligation. I can see a little bit of comic relief in adventure/thriller movies, but too much ruins it. I thought the 1st Raiders of the Lost Ark was a perfect example of a great thriller with just enough comic relief.

Then you have movies like Blade Trinity which I really was looking forward to, and they put that fucker Ryan Reynolds in it, and ruined it completely with cheesy terrible jokes and bad dialogue. Pirates fell into that category in my book.

I took two sons to see it. I feel asleep (not an indication of the movie. I do that at most), woke up when it was over...and my son's loved it. So I did, too!:cheer:
