They have an excellent team. They should coast through their regional in the NCAAs. Great program.

Sorry I meant to add this.

    NCAA makes Vandy No. 1
Commodores head to baseball tourney as top overall seed
    By MAURICE PATTON
    Staff Writer

Published: Tuesday, 05/29/07 It was almost anti-climactic when Vanderbilt's baseball team learned the opposition for this weekend's NCAA regional at Hawkins Field.
The top-ranked Commodores had already been announced as a regional host — hours before claiming the SEC Tournament championship Sunday to go with their regular-season title.
So, Monday's announcement that Michigan, Memphis and Austin Peay would be the three teams coming to town Friday had a bit of a "ho-hum" feel compared to previous years, when it was unclear where Vanderbilt would go or what seed it would have.
The Commodores are the No. 1 seed nationally and as one of the top eight seeds are assured of hosting the best-of-three super regional round if they advance out of the four-team double-elimination regional.
"It could have been a bit worse, looking and not knowing," shortstop Ryan Flaherty said.
Historically, hosting regionals and super regionals has been pivotal for teams advancing to the eight-team College World Series in Omaha, Neb. Since 1998, 68.8 percent of all host teams have won their regional and 74.6 percent of hosts have won their super regional.
"Playing at a level where we could play at home at the end of the year is something we've worked toward all season," Vanderbilt Coach Tim Corbin said. "Playing at home, it's obvious that you've got an edge — energy, noise, comfort level, familiarity with surroundings. It makes a difference."
    UT not invited
Vanderbilt (51-11), Arkansas — the No. 7 national seed — Ole Miss and South Carolina will host regionals. The fifth SEC team that made the 64-team field, Mississippi State, drew a No. 2 regional seed and will play at Florida State.
The five SEC teams are the fewest since the league sent four teams into postseason play in 1994.

Another team to watch is WCU. Will be tough for them if they face UNC but this team could win several games. They beat a number of ACC teams on their schedule this year.

Vandy barely pulled that one out. 2-1 vs Austin Peay in 11 innings.

That was a great game. Price pitched pretty well. I think he had 17 frickin' strikeouts! Kelly for A-P is good as well-he pitch 10 innings. I felt they left him in due to a weak BP-which proved to be true.

One guy who has some demons today is the 2nd baseman for AP. He had 3 errors-last one cost them the game. I felt bad for the guy.

State vs. somebody 7 pm Sunday.
