You haven't seen him in a long as time have you? As I said. He's lost a shit load of weight. At this point I'm gonna say May might even have less body fat than Boozer. Its hard to tell because he has a freakishly large head, but he's not close to being over weight like in college. You're basing your opinion on him 3-4 years ago. You're making a mistake with that. May's knee is screwed because it has no cartilage.

Former UNC star fighting weight, injuries in NBA
    Associated Press

    Updated: March 30, 2007, 7:54 PM ET

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte Bobcats coach Bernie Bickerstaff challenged injured forward Sean May on Friday to lose weight and get into better shape before next season.
May, the 13th overall pick in the 2005 draft, has been plagued by a right knee injury that required surgery to remove cartilage last season. He then developed a bone bruise in the knee in January. May has missed 30 of the past 35 games, and said Friday he'll likely sit out the rest of the season.

"I think he'll be all right," Bickerstaff said before the Bobcats' game against Milwaukee. "The self discipline is going to be really, really important. I think the guy he has to use as an example of it is a guy like (Los Angeles Clippers forward) Elton Brand, how he put his summer work in. A lot is going to be contingent on that."
May, who helped North Carolina to the 2005 national championship, has struggled to stay on the court in the NBA. He played in only 23 games last year and 39 this season, with Bickerstaff suggesting part of the reason is May's weight and work ethic.
"It's never as easy as you think it is. It's tough," Bickerstaff said. "The things you got away with in college and high school, you can't do that on this level. It's an awakening and Sean isn't the only one who has experienced that."

May said a lack of cartilage in the knee doesn't necessarily make him prone to bone bruises, saying his injury was a "freak thing."

But May, who said he weighs 265 pounds, acknowledged he needs to lose at least 10 pounds and get into better shape over the summer.

"In terms of taking care of your diet and being in the best possible shape. Not coming in good shape, coming in in great shape," May said after working out in the weight room before Friday's game. "What he means by discipline is, just taking the initiative, do the work, make sure I do the work for myself and the franchise."

When May has played, he's been effective. He averaged 8.2 points last season and 11.9 points this one, while improving his shooting range. But May, who missed most of his freshman year in college with a broken left foot, has started to get the injury-prone label.

"I think I've proven I can play in this league, I've just got to get healthy," May said. "Part of that is my fault and part of that is misfortune.

"I never want to get that rap, that I'm injury prone."

Bickerstaff, while suggesting that May needs to get tougher, thinks May will put in the work needed.

"I think most guys in the NBA are playing with a little pain. That's where the mental toughness and self discipline has to come in," Bickerstaff said. "Pride will motivate him. I think the kid is prideful."

well thats great. their last game was late april(18th) lets see if he can keep it off for another 6 months. and losing 10 lbs does not automatically equal being in shape. its a start though.

Bill Simmons, the Sports Guy on ESPN.com, wrote that youtube has footage of the Knicks-Ewing draft.

It shows a guy creasing one of the envelopes. When Stern holds up the Knicks envelope after fishing around to pick one, that envelope has a crease in the same spot. Somebody watch this.

The people who haven't blocked you laugh at your posts.

Sucks if Hibbert and Jeff Greene pull out.

edit: Count me as a dook fan who still thinks May may turn it around. He's got a pretty sweet stroke for a big guy. Just needs to get in shape and obviously stay healthy. His time is running out and he's fooling himself if he thinks he'll get another nba job if he busts in Charlotte. He'll be old news in two years so he better make the most of it now.

Either Green or Brewer would be a solid pick at #8. Green is in the draft to stay...
