One could argue it is not a sin to have urges but only to act on them.

what about lusting of the heart is as bad as doing the deed or if you hate your brother you have committed murder?

The American Psychiatric Association defines the state of homosexuality as a psychological disorder. The Bible is very clear about temptation not being a sin. Biblically speaking, the sin happens when the individual chooses to act on any given temptation. While among scientists, counselors, and theologians the cause may be debated fiercely for some time, the fact that giving into any temptation is a choice will not be.

Lusting is a choice. It's taking temptation to the next level, from an attraction to fantasizing/obsessing. That kind of thing doesn't just happen -- it has to be fed.

Not much in the way of cures going around. I just don't buy it.

Not sure where temptation entered into it, but I agree on that point.

FWIW, the APA is a secular organization.

The temptation is mental/biochemical, from the mind's sexual pleasure center. This would be true of both homo- and heterosexuals.

OK, but if it's a disorder, those folks still didn't choose to have it.

I guess I meant I don't know where the temptation part came from. But I see now that I have jb on manual ignore. :D

No it doesn't. Not unless we woke up this morning and it's the 1970's.
