I've been invited to go to the CocaCola 600 on the 27th. I was told I would be given a special pass to watch the race from the pits...

What exactly does this mean? Will I be able to drink beer? Are there seats in "the pits?" What exactly is this?

Was also told I would also be able to go sit in the stands. Is there some sort of tunnel to get to the seats?

You cannot drink beer in the pits. You will have to wear long pants and closed toed shoes, so your hippy sandals are out. [IMG] There aren't really seats per say. There is a tunnel you can walk through to get to the stands.

No tunnel. Go to your seats if you want to see any racing. Cant see a thing from the pits.

Long pants and no hippie shoes? But the real problem here....NO BEER????? Shit, they had to get my driver's license number, date of birth, etc...to do a background check for me to get this.

No beer drinking. Can't do it.

To me, the pits are fun for watching qualifying and happy hour. To watch the race, seats are better. Are you going to have an infield parking pass? If so, you can keep your cooler there, go to the pits for a while, come out grab your beer.

Last year we were able to use the tunnel between turn 4 and the start finish line. I can't remember if we needed extra tickets to get into the grandstands or not. I don't think we did, but we had them. Freakshow, I will pay attention to it this weekend, and let you know.

I'm a guest of a bank. The girl that invited me has never been to a race. She SAYS that I'll have a pass to watch from the pits AND a regular seat. She's not sure about a tunnel...but I'd think there would have to be one.

Also said I'd have access to a hospitality tent...wouldn't that need to be in the infield?
