I thought that either Soriano or Gonzalez would win the closers job from Wickman before the season is over. It's still Wickman's but when he comes off the DL, he better be good because the guys I mentioned are getting it done.

Soriano and Gonzalez need some rest. THey are pitching awesome but Wickman will give them a breather from time to time. That will be crucial if they want to take the division from the Mets

I think Soriano and Gonzo are both better that Wickman. I enjoy watching Wickman pitch, but he has made a living getting people out with mediocre stuff. That just worries me. We really need a starter. Why don't we look into trading 1 of the 3 for a 4th or 5th starter?

Wickman is untradable right now. The only way he would possibly be tradable is if he is healthy and if a playoff contender lost their closer. I'm not sure he has anything left to give beyond this year. Davies looked better his last start. The kid they brought up - I can't recall his name- looked like he had some good stuff. Maybe one of the two will emerge. The bullpen appears to be solid and deep. A couple of injuries can change that. I wouldn't screw with it just yet.

The pitcher you are referring to is Jason Larew. He looked great in his first start. I would like another starter but to make a deal during the season is tough without overpaying by a lot. Maybe Phil Neikro has an inning or two left in the old soup bone.

He is swinging like a maniac and missing. 5 punch outs in the game in Boston. He still is the best centerfielder I have ever seen but he is never going to be consistant at the plate. He looks like a damned fool at times and it's a shame. He is so strong, if he would wait on the pitch a bit more and go the other way some, he could hit .330 and cut his strikeouts by half.
