Bitter about what? Your World Series in 1824?

    Pitchers are your best players.

Don't tell Theo you don't need him. He called about Andruw last year. Before you ask, ESPN and bostonglobe.com reported this. Shuerholze asked for your three young arms. Theo probably laughed and hung up the phone. I don't blame him.

    Grid, nice photochop.

sure Theo inquired about Jones, but that was before the Drew signing. The Sox have a what could be a Damon-type centerfielder in the pipeline (Ellsbury) and an adequate, albeit lighthitting one, on the team now. Jones is a great fielder and will hit his share of homers, but he's too pricey, strikes out way too much and can't steal a base. What the sox need to be looking for is a power-hitting first baseman so Youkilis can move back to third (although Lowell could be brought back at the right price).

    whaddya mean, photochop?¿?¿?

    He aint from around here.

It was reported years back that Andruw loved hanging out at the strip clubs in Atlanta. On one occasion he apparently showed up at a certain club asking for a couple of specific girls. The owners told him he could find them at a certain hotel in room # whatever. Andruw went there and found a group of people watching the two chicks having sex. Andruw said fuck it, stripped off his clothes, jumped in the bed and joined in the fun. Andruw isn't shy.

Last I checked they won the world series in 2004 but lets not let the facts get in the way of this debate.

The Sox certainly did inquire about Jones but they wanted to trade Coco straight up for him. Atlanta wanted Jon Lester as part of the deal (before he was diagnosed with cancer) and then Theo laughed and hung up.

Crisp for Jones? Glad to see Theo has a sense of humor.

Well there is the minor matter of the salary's not matching up. The Sox would have been taking on a big contract. They would have been doing the Braves a favor as they won't be able to re-sign Jones anyway, so you might as well get another centerfielder to replace him.

And he's gonna talk. Still waiting to see if this is just hype by the Mitchell comittee to make it look like they have actually done something, but I bet there are a lot of nervous fuckers in baseball locker rooms this morning.
