    Agreed. But mutual respect for differences of opinion & interpretation makes a lot more sense to me than trying to get everyone to agree on any one thing--religion included.

    Intolerance is a central tenet of many, if not all, religious zealots. But it's not limited to them, by any means. Intolerance is a human characteristic, not exclusively a religious one.

    The same logic could be applied to any singular belief system (or government) that had the effect of unifying humanity. Unfortunately, the pursuit of truth has always been divisive.
