    Saban is overrated as hell. He even has a losing record against Tommy Tuberville. He was mediocre at Michigan State and had a great year in 2003 with LSU and won the title. All his other years don't even stand out among SEC coaches or could be seen as not even being in the top third of the SEC. Alabama fans are way to hopeful. He will recruit well though which will kill Auburn.

    Saban won two SEC titles. He never had a non-winning SEC conference record. He was 2-3 against freaking Auburn, a powerhouse the last time I checked, hardly ownage. Mediocre at MSU? He got that team to a 10 win season? How often has that happened?

    I hate boma, but that was the best hire they could hope for.

    Damn, I thought 2001 was Florida, but I guess that was 2000? UT hasn't won one since '98? i get confused

    Saban does seem to follow the money...that's absolutely true...but he's a good coach. You can't deny him that. Bama will be good. Will they do what the fans expect? Who knows. If they don't win the SEC in 3 years and go 1-2 vs. Auburn, he'll probably be run out of town.

    I wonder if the Nicktator has found another ballwasher (and informant) since he lost that dude in Miami (who the Dolphins were quite happy to fire after the Nicktator skipped town). Saban is a good coach but a world class liar and possesses little class himself. He'll do a great job for Boma (till the next job he covets comes along)..
