give the officials to look at instant replay in the final minute of the game.

Depends on what you are giving them the right to change. I don't think they should be able to call a foul after the fact or even a travel. Only things which stop the clock like who was the last to touch the ball before going out of bounds.

A travel is a turnover. This came up about the Vandy game on the local station.

I agree, not on the foul. They already do to adjust the time. It would definitely be up to the ref's opinion on when it should be used. Plus not every NCAA game could have the number of cameras that would be needed.

According to the rules the Georgetown player did not walk. You are allowed to lift your pivot in the act of shooting even if you lift it first.

Regardless, what are you going to do with replay? Say the shot missed, another GT player got the rebound and scored. Are you gonna erase the basket, add time to the clock and start over? Dumb idea.

I didn't want to make this about that play. Just wondered what people thought about the idea in general. Like you said, out of bounds call etc. or even calling the right player with the foul.

You are right in the fact that you couldn't stop the flow of the game. Even in the last minute.

I agree with Sly, how far are you going to go using replays to "correct" calls?

I was just throwing out there. Yes, the guy who did it is whining about that call. It would be too hard to do for the fact that, as you said, where does it stop.

Sly's right, and the letter of the law makes sense. I thought about it like this, say your left foot is your pivot, and you take a jumpshot. If the Georgetown shot was a travel, then technically on a jumpshot if your pivot foot lifts first then that would be a travel. The rule is that a player must lift the pivot and set it back down to re-establish pivot, so although it looked awkward it was the right call. And one hell of a shot.

If that were the case, but it looked as though he lifted his foot and it came back down to touch the ground before he released the shot. All of this was one motion towards the basket. Did he take what most would call a step? Probably not, but did he shift his foot, lift it during that shift and make contact with the floor again, yes.
