    Nah....SDS...Packer's show just got picked up in Columbia. Truth is, his show is VERY popular in the SE. He's on in Raleigh, Greensboro, Greenville, SC AND NC. Florence, SC and Columbia.

    Look how popular John Boy and Billy are...same schtick...just applied to sports.

    Oh...THe Morning Sports Page is my favorite. I LIKE Jim Celania.

    hayseed was at wfnz before packer was. hes in production. he just chimed in every now and then and was part of the qcb stuff(tune that segment out). not like he was a host or guest. if he wasnt fired and moved on I would guess he went to sirius nascar with the old producer at wfnz

    I'm not saying Packman isn't popular, but I don't think its that good. Best sportstalk show in the country (a critics comment many years ago)? Not by a long shot!!!!

    I'm just saying WFNZ seems to be content to be the home of Packman's mini-radio empire vs. being home of a truly great sports radio station. I mean, on WFAN you can just about leave that station on your preset station all year round (Knicks during the Winter, Mets in the Spring Summer, Giants in the Fall). Down here, folks think the Whiner Line segments make for good sportstalk radio . . . Yikes :rolleyes: :rolleyes: . . .

    The Bottom Line:

    Live College/Pro Programming+A Good Lineup+A strong Stick=Great Station

    WFNZ's problem is Decent College/Pro Programming (only plus is UNC Hoops)+Good Lineup+Weak Stick=Medicore Station.

    I mean, why doesn't WFNZ pick up the Braves, seeing how tons of Braves fans live in the area, and dump the Knights (I know that maybe blashempy, but hardly anybody listens to the Knights I'm sure). Put the Braves on 1660 for day games to avoid breaking up the M-F lineup on 610.

    chris can you tell me how i was a fraud? i did exactly what you said i did. didnt try and hide it. was how the character on the show was built. and dj tet what did packer say exactly on the show?

    The new producer is the guy who used to work for Arnie Spanier I think.

    i am being honest here....not trying to be a smart ass....do all of you think that what you hear on the radio is the truth about how a person really is??? its all an act. what you hear and what a person is realy like are totally different.
    and sorry chris havent eaten a bullet yet. i have never heard of the new producer.
