Yes. Just because there are now entities called 'message boards' doesn't mean that life has completely stopped in the real world.

I was thinking more along the lines that since there are so many companies making them that they jumped the shark in the late 90's. When I first moved to Charlotte 16 some years ago my roommate collected them and the market crashed.

Seems like the only collectors are older with no really kids getting into it.

My kid has a bunch of them, and wants more, but isn't really a collector in my mind. He hasn't learned to obsess over them.

I collect them, but I don't have any past 1991. They really do suck now, but the old ones are still cool.

Still have a ton of them. I recently looked up the values of some of them. They've all gone down 75% since the 90's. The shark's been jumped for some time.

I was really into baseball cards when I was younger. The baseball card business went to crap after about 1995 or 96. The main problem is just that there are too many different types now. Back when it was just Topps, Donruss, Fleer, Score, Leaf and Bowman baseball cards meant somehting.

I've been collecting for years. My grandfather started me off with my first complete set the year I was born. I have complete (boxed, cellophane still on) sets since my birth year 1959. All Topps. That's all I have ever collected. They now take up 3 safety deposit boxes at a bank

The cost of 3 safety deposit boxes over the years is more than the value of the cards, brilliant idea.
