01 lost to Penn State Was a very bad lost much worst then 1999 lost Weber State's when unc was a 3rd seed in 1999 and 1st seed in 2001.sure the heels were a number 1seed in 01 and lost to Penn State that team was not as talent as this year team. Also Penn State if I not mistaking made it to the sweet 16.Not giving any excuse the lost to Penn State was real bad consider that we reeled off 18 straight wins. It shows that in the tournament you can be the best team if the world but if you have one bad game and you don’t show you will lose

 

the UNC teams that lost to Weber State and Penn State those years were NOTHING compared to what this year's bunch CAN be. they are about the same right now, but unless the Heels get back to basics, they will be 1 and done in the dance.

I was at both of those UNC losses (Weber and Penn), and in both instances, the Heels opponent outhustled, and outworked Carolina. Carolina showed up expecting to win, but no one told that to Weber or Penn, and those teams worked UNC over 40 minutes. Weber had Arceneaux (Harold "The Show") and Penn State had those twin brothers who played so well in New Orleans. No one feared the jersey or logo back then. They fear it a little now, but at the moment, it (that logo) is all bark and no bite.

Its a tough conference to play in and especially on the road...
expectations might have been just a bit high for this team all year.

 

Getting wins on the road are hard. GT shot the lights out in the first half while the Heels couldn't hit shit. As far as the NCAA I really don't see any team in the NCAA being without flaws so anything is possible.
