Not bad for a basketball school with crummy facilities and no fan support.

Apparently the facilities are kick ass there. They just have a tiny stadium and no fan support. Expect to see 20,000+ Gamecock fans there for the game this season.

Why? We'll get our allotment and then buy the rest there. Hell, your home OPENER was only 2/3 full. Maybe I'm wrong and Davis' presence will add more fans. I do know of tons of people that are planning on going without tickets.

I just went to the UNC website. I can buy a season ticket for $240 without even being a donor. You don't think there will be a ton of indivudual tickets for sale on your site? I'll either get mine through the Gamecock Club or through the UNC site...

Its still a month before the average ticket drive, and more season tickets have already been sold than for all of last year. UNC started an early ticket drive based off Davis and they've been selling pretty damned good. The fans seemed to be following Davis, and if he can pick up a couple wins this year it'll be a tough ticket to buy.

I doubt it. The big games will sell well, but they always do. I was at the Homecoming Miami game in '04 and the crowd was absolutely electric, but I have also been to plenty of games where a third of the stadium was empty.

before Butch Davis, and before a top 20 recruiting class that included a beast like Marvin Austin. Davis has brought life back into the program, and alot of the "basketball only" fans, we'll be football fans again. The likely hood of an embarrassing loss (see giving up 600+ yards a game) won't happen. People got frustrated with the program on not losing, but how UNC was losing. Those days are over, and the "Sleeping Giant" is awake.

I'm not disputing his effect on the team's performance. I'm saying that, like the Panthers, the Heels don't have the kind of fan base that will come out and routinely fill up the stadium with bodies except against the biggest teams.
