It's worth pointing out, but all the big schools (minus a select few) play at least 2 Patsy's in thier non-conference schedule.

OSU wins include Northern Illinios and Cincinatti. Only the Trojans can talk about not scheduling cream puffs. And they needed to schedule those games so their SOS doesn't go to shit.

maybe, but Sagarin says eight of the top 10 in strength of schedule were from the Pac 10. and we're talking about the "middle of the SEC," not OSU. The middle of the SEC isn't as good as advertised.

It's funny, I'll point out to Iowa fans how the Hawks play such weak schedules, and the response is generally the same. "Oh, It's not our fault Iowa State sucks"...Um ISU won 5 in a row recently and the contest since then have not been so lopsided and Iowa made IAA Montana look pretty fucking good this year.
The other argument is, "The Big Ten has a contract with MAAC"...which is true, but they don't have to schedule two MAAC schools every year...and furthermore, if your going to schedule a twelvth game, it should be required to be a D1-A school in order to count towards the bowl eligibility.

I hate OSU more than I hate Michigan and slightly less than my hate for Florida, but in thier defense both NIU and Cinn are decent programs. Cinn especially has done thier part in recent years by pulling some huge upsets or exposing over rated teams.

NIU and Cincy are just a hair better than Wofford, Fla. Atlantic and La. Monroe.

NIU and La. Monroe are very similar, IMO, in that they are both hot and cold. But Cinncy is better than both of them and tons better than FAU and Wofford.

I have a tough time believing that Washinton State's schedule is all that, but then again perhaps Idaho and Baylor are some sort of off the radar powerhouses.

Tennessee beat 2 ranked teams, including Cal. UGA beat Va Tech and Ga Tech. Kentucky and SC beat Clemson, who was having a pretty decent season to that point. And Houston was no cream puff. 10 wins.

As mediocrity goes, the SEC's medocrity fared well.

In reality, this argument is little more than arguing, "Shampoo is Betah!...No, Conditionah is bettah".
