I think the league, overall, is in trouble. The NBA decided to embrace the hip-hop culture, and that's not where the fan support is going to come from. I'm not calling all NBA'er's thugs, but pointing out the direction Stern decided to take this league. That's why they brought the dress-code in to play this year; it's a feable attempt to reach out to the old fanbase which has dropped this league.

Everybody talks about the NBA being a piece of sh*t, not worth watching, but every GD high school and college player in the country is trying to get into it! They are constantly taking college's best players, and they have the best atheletes in the game, how can it be that bad?

Because they ignore the rules of the game. Hell, I hate it and would love to be in it as well getting 10...20 mil. that is a terrible argument.

Yep and the kids that don't make it sure aren't paying to go see the games.

Wonder what the odds are on just college kids playing to have a chance to even make the NBA? And then throw every kid that thinks he is good enough right out of high school or various other routes.

Has to be what 1/10,000? 1/100,000?

I think it was pretty obvious from word said go that Bob Johnson had no idea how to run a franchise. Now he's cleaned house and brought in a bunch of people from the league to help, I think long term he'll be ok.

I don't think the Bobcats problem connecting with the community is anything unique in the league. If you look around the league there are TONS of empty seats everywhere. I was watching highlights of a Rockets game on ESPN the other night and I swear I thought they were showing highlights from some pregame pickup game. There was nobody there. It's that way in a lot of places. The NBA has priced itself out of the range of its fan base, based on the mistaken notion that the golden age they had when Jordan/Bird/Magic played was going to the be rule, not the exception. Now things have settled back to a more realistic level and teams are hurting because they're not set up to survive at that level.
