not sure how that claim could ever be substantiated.

I think USC would dominate in recruiting wherever they were, but they really don't have another football rival on the west coast who gets top notch talent. The Pac-10 is pretty weak year in and year out and USC could pick and choose whoever they wanted from the west coast which helped start their recent run.

USC gets their talent from all over the country. but the recruiting argument makes no sense. It's not like you're gonna pick up the southern cal campus and plunk it down in Mobile.

Fair enough. The SEC is the best football conference by far, but USC is unquestionably a better team year in and year out than any team in the SEC.

You're just mad because the Big Ten is overrated at both.

Not really, I like Penn State and I live in Iowa...but I really have NO loyalties to the Big Ten (er, I mean 11 but they can't count). In fact, I can't stand the two so called Big Ten powers. Could care less if anyone other than Penn State wins, although I like seeing schools like Indiana and Northwestern get a little taste now and then much like I love seeing Louisville's program develop and Rutgers evolving into a team you don't dare overlook.
No, I am just mad because the SEC pisses and moans every year about how tough they are, yet the really only have one or two elite teams a year and the rest of the conference suckles that teet. Tennessee hasn't been worth a fuck in a few years, yet they continue to get mentioned as someone special. Tennessee especially pisses me off, but I never liked Florida...any of the Florida schools for that matter, bunch of shit talking assholes.

While Florida piddles through the year and makes the National title game (which they played very well in) yet schools like Boise State are never given a shot or at least have to twice as much to get that shot.

I've always liked Auburn and Arkansas and I even like Kentucky, so it's not about the Big Ten really.

I count three teams all ranked in the top 10 at the end of the year. I count four teams with at least 10 wins, more than any other conference. You must really suck at math.

Tennessee went 9-4. 2-4 against ranked teams. Not bad given the injuries we had. Penn State beat us fairly, but it was hardly a blowout, tied at 10 in the fourth and driving in Penn State territory before the Foster fumble.

Florida fans can be tiresome, but Urban Meyer runs a pretty disciplined squad.

    This makes no sense.

Florida's only loss came to an 8th ranked Auburn team where they did not allow an offensive touchdown. Besides beating four other ranked SEC teams, they beat a 9 win Southern Miss team and a rivalry game against FSU. It's not like they pulled a BYU, this was a tough schedule.
