    sort of...

I went to Atlanta this wekend and my friends took me to a store that sells used and rebuilt computers. My friend Lee Ann knows computers and picked this one out for me. It's a year and a half old Dell, P4 2.8G/512MB/80G/XP PRO, optiplex Gx620. It was a business lease machine. I took it to my PC guru yesterday and he checked it out and pronounce it a good, fast machine. I'm sure I'll be happy with it being that my old Gateway is two cans and a string.
I gave $250.000 and he threw in a new keyboard and mouse.

I'd bump the memory up another 512, but in general its better than the machines used by the average TBR user.

I hope you meant $250 dollars instead of $250 thousand. I'd bump that ram up to 1g or more if/when you can. The more the merrier for XP.

It's a year newer than mine, and i have no plans to give it up. Just put Vista on it and it flies.

I am having a problem... two actually. I plugged in my scanner and my machine has just ignored it. I plugged in my printer and it acknowledged new hardware and I put in the software and the machine said it had a problem installing. My camera installation went in no problem.

I had a buddy who had an old scanner that XP wouldnt recognize and there was no driver (software) for XP for it. He had to buy a new one.

You may be having a similar problem.
