Jay Glazer reported that WR Ashley Lelie has voided the remaining year of his contract with the Falcons. His contract contained certain provisions allowing him to void the remaining year if playing time goals were met.

Lelie came to the Falcons via a three team deal involving the Falcons, the Redskins, and his former team, the Broncos. He now becomes an unrestricted free agent.

The Falcon receiving corps will return Michael Jenkins, Roddy White, and Brian Finneran (who was out all last season due to injury).

They missed Finneran this past year. He is a good possession guy. Lelie is little more than Drew Carter, a good deep man but that is about it.

Falcon fans this past season hailed him as the answer to their problems when he first came, then complained bitterly when he didn't get as much playing time as many of them thought he should.

In truth, he was never really as good as they thought he was, but he still might be better than he looked in Atlanta with someone other than Vick throwing to him.

Wouldn't want him in Carolina, honestly, but I do think it's funny that yet another savior to their WR corps has bitten the dust.

And yet another deal that Denver comes out of on top, that Redskin top 3rd round pick will be nice.

Not as well as that fourth round pick to Denver for Jeff Lewis worked out for them.

That must have been during the Seifert years, I've had all memory of that era surgically removed from my brain.
