I wonder if Oliver Purnell went up to a Duke player during the celebration to tell him "You're better than that."

My point is there isn't a basketball fan in the country who has any right calling ANYONE out this morning. UNC had been the recipient of numerous favorable calls themselves, have they not? (Villanova *cough* *cough*) To say the error is the reason Duke won is stupidity at its finest as Bilas agrees. Duke won because they executed a winning play on a level playing field.

Or have a guy who stomped on another player and be allowed to stay in the game hit the game winning shot.

We aren't talking about the horseshit goaltending noncall. :woohoo:

Starting the clock is not a judgement call. It should start when a player touches the ball.

I honestly can't think of an instance where UNC benefitted from a delay like that. If there is one, I doubt that I defended it.

On the play when the clock did not start correctly, Clemson benefitted more than Duke.

There was no clock error on the last play. Duke executed. Clemson did not.

So if that was your point then why did you make a call out?

Clemson seriously has the old Boston curse when it comes to playing dook and I don't mean situations like the clock. Clemson, not sure of the exact number but it was a lot, missed numerous uncontested shots from 5 feet or less, a lot more than dook did.

On a side note, what the hell has happened to Thomas and Henderson? I have never been a Thomas fan so could really care less about his ghetto self, but he was suppose to be the player that gave dook the number one class this year. Henderson on the other hand I thought would have done more than he has, he looks very timid out there, not the same player he was in the allstar games.

sounds to me like if ACC referees did their jobs right, Dook and UNC would be no better than .500 every year.

Sly, there was a clock error on the play when Hamilton shot the jumper, that's fact as the video stats. You are correct, there was no clock error on the last play that dook scored to win the game, it was the previous play, which benefited dook on the last play, not Clemson as you seem to think.

There would not have been time for that play if the clock had been started correctly though. That youtube video is conclusive.

The game should have gone to OT.

Clemson benefitted from the clock error up to the point the ball went through the hoop. Simple fact. Clock not running always benefits the team that is behind.

If you are truly concerned with neither team benefitting from the error, the clock should have been reset to 5 seconds and Duke been given possession.
