    Weird. I read that Sarkisian turned down the job because Kiffin didn't want to come along as OC. In any case, I think it's a mistake. The fad right now is to take younger and younger coaches without much concern as to whether or not they're qualified.

    At this point the Raiders seem to be in the position of having to give the job to whoever will take it, not who they WANT to take it. That's a sad statement for an organization that players used to want to play for and was a plum job for coaches. Back in the days when "Commitment to Excellence" meant something...

    Sarkisian was never officially offered the job. He took his name out of consideration is all.
