how many other NFL teams are knocking at his door to be their HC? So in that sense, she's right.

Buck's exactly right. Its not exactly unprecedented for coaches to turn down the Raiders HC job. Its a shame, because the Raiders have good fans. They deserve better from that disaster of a franchise. They had something good for bit, and threw it away.

There's only 32 of these jobs in the world. For a guy like Sarkisian to turn one down is amazing, imo.

Why? He has a bright future. Taking the wrong job could be crippling. That being said, I do think with a few decent picks, and a solid staff, the Raiders can be just fine.

Because it's a hell of a pay raise, they have a playoff caliber defense, and even if you fail, Head Coach of the Oakland Raiders doesn't look terrible on a resume. It really speaks to how lowly that organization has become.

Fair enough. Ten years ago, Id have agreed with you. But in this day in age, where NFL HC vacancies are at a high every year, I dont think turning down a job that comes with a lot of infamy at that very position is a costly thing to do. Hes still OC of a very sterling football program, with a bright future ahead of him.

Where I DO agree with you is that the Raiders have a nice defense, and if the guy is an offensive minded guy, and you got the number one pick, why not take that chance?

I wonder what the hell goes on at those negotiations, man.

I think he knows that if he just sticks around a couple more years he could be calling the shots at USC. And IMO thats a better job than any organization run by Al Davis.

Maybe the Raiders and the Cardinals should trade cities. The Rams and the Colts did this back in the late 60's or early 70's as I recall. Al would dry up in the Arizona heat, and the franchise would be rid of him.
