Remember when T.O. danced on the star in Dallas? This is the same situation. If they were running around doing some Patriots dance or whatever, I doubt anybody would have cared.

I'm with LT. What Hobbs did WAS classless. He wasn't just celebrating, he was mocking somebody. There is a distinction.

Message Board Asshat may not realize it, but this is actually trend for the Patriots. Remember how they kept mocking the Eagles by "flapping their wings" during Super Bowl XXXIX? Or how they did the terrible towel immitation at Pittsburgh, twice? Or how Richard Seymour tried to start shit with Buckner before SB XXXVIII?

It's a first class, winning organization, but they aren't exactly the beacon of good sportsmanship that ESPN sometimes tries to convey. And Belichick is a dirty ************ (literally- he stole another man's wife back in the 90's, and then left her so he could hit up Bonnie Bernstein) and he's actually the reason why the NFL had to impliment a defensive delay of game penalty for touching the ball, since he would instruct his players to do that so a team couldn't run no-huddle.

 

So what you're saying is that every celebration is classless taunt?

How is Merriman doing his little "lights out" dance any different than Steve Smith row-boating after a TD or somebody doing the Iggy Shuffle?

If you make a play and do a dance or something, it's a celebration. It may be stupid, but it's not classless taunting.

If you beat a team and then do that team's dance, it's mocking them.

There is a difference.
