If Smith runs a deep route and pulls a corner and safety with him then that creates a void on his side that would leave a tight end either wide open or covered by a linebacker. Seems like that would work a lot. To counter it they would have to either single up on a wide out or pull a linebacker in favor of a DB. Both of those things would create opportunities.

kidnap Smitty and Key, stuff Mangum and Gaines into their jerseys, and then maybe Jake would lock onto them. That’s the only way we are going to get close to the kind of TE involvement we had when Walls was in his heyday here.

That would not matter. Balls would just bounce off their hands and face masks.

Wiggins caught alot for Minn the last 2 years. I think he's a FA and unhappy up there. He accepted less money from them that we offered. Maybe he would come back now that Henning is gone.

Hmmm, I wonder if this puts Hoover, Mangum, and goings at risk???

    Goings just re-signed.

Hoover signed a 5 year extension in 2003, so he's up after 2007. Mangum's also up after 2007. Either could be released without any negative cap status, but neither were expensive anyway and almost all of the O staff is still here and they all seem to enjoy the presence of these players.
