Sex before marriage...

A friend of my husband who is divorced began dating a woman who is widowed. This woman is a very religious woman and told him that she doesn't believe in sex before marriage (they have slipped and had sex twice). Nonetheless, the more my husband and I thought about it we began to wonder "does no sex before marriage still apply to those who have been previously married?" Both have grown children, so the whole virginal aspect doesn't come into play. Just curious on how everyone else viewed it.

i think that he already screwed up when he got divorced. he shouldn't be worrying about any other rules after messing that one up.

plus, i think the fact that she has kids pretty much proves that she's had sex.

not sure about other cases, but i would think that -- generally speaking -- i'd interpret the original "no sex before marriage" rule to really mean the opposite: you shouldn't have sex with anyone that you aren't married to.

applying that, then they should not have sex. they aren't married to each other.

 

yeah, yeah. She is apparently not that adventurous and only does one position with the woman on bottom. He performed oral on her (first time ever!) and it seems she liked it, but is bothered she liked it sooooo much. oh well.

 

I bet she wishes he wouldn't talk about their sex history with his friends.

 

Biblically speaking, the guideline is 'no sex outside of marriage'. And yes -- that applies to those who are widowed. It's not about virginity, it's about the sanctity of sex itself.

 

What did she do? "Slip" and land on it? Twice?

OK, I'm just being a wise guy. As to the subject, I will advocate and endorse shacking up until the day I die. Try before you buy.

 

I foresee a lot of trouble in this relationship...
