A Song of Ice & fire

I FINALLY got the 4th in the series, A Feast for Crows, for Christmas. Just skimming through the previous 3 to refresh my memory before starting it.

One of the things that strikes me, that makes me love this series so much, is that it's not your typical "good vs. evil" fantasy. I'm continually being surprised at how my perceptions of the characters keep deepening. No one is entirely hero or villain. That's true in any great story, but exceptionally well-done here. Even characters that I find very little sympathy for grow on me, & I come to like them to some degree.
