So....Weinke threw for 32 yards and a TD to someone I don't know and Foster/Williams ran for 200 yards and our defense held strong?

That's what the stats say....so what really happened?

Fox obviously has zero confidence in Weinke to stand back there and deliever the ball, so the gameplan this week called for a heavy dose of the run game to go along with D. Williams running the fucking single wing formation about 10 times today.

Weinke's pocket presence is beyond piss poor. Anything gained through the air was the result of a great running game. We could have ran the same game plan with Basanez and not missed a beat.

ATL only held the ball for 18 minutes allowing the defense to play the entire game with fresh legs.

Yeah, we basically reprised the singlewing offense.

Panther_Fanatic gave a pretty good synopsis of why we did so.

Which was only two weeks too friggin' late. Win or lose those weeks, it was our best chance.

Well, to be totally fair Fox had complete confidence Weinke would stand back there. Just not much on the rest of it. :fish:
Kinda sad, really. He did make a very good throw to Key, and came kinda close to completing two Smitty balls.

This was a fun game. It was well executed, and well planned.

I would love to see Jake play in a game where we are able to run the ball that well. You know he would hit Smith for a few big plays off play action.

Dude, how many times do I have to point out the St. Louis game before that sinks in?
