Not to :newsmile53: , but JD would have thrown some serious picks today had he been in the game. Weinke sucks, which sucks, because JD sucks too. If we could muster that kind of a running game, let Basanez hand the damn thing off.

We know it wasn't "get rid of the ball and avoid the sack".

    I will say that.........

Chris Wanker took one sack that knocked him out of his shoes, and he could have stayed on the ground, but he got back up, I did not think he was..

How can you have played/practiced years of organized football and think that you have 12-15 seconds to stay in the pocket. Where is the dude's mental clock...Geeze, make the read and throw the ball already! At least throw it out of bounds...The line on the few times he dropped back actually did a decent job, he just stood there star struck, though.

You know, I got into a big argument on another Panthers board with a fan that tried to tell me that Weinke was better in the pocket than Delhomme. Where this notion came from, I have no idea...Weinke has the mobility of a fucking glacier and he's always been this way.

New Orleans is going to have game tape of the single wing now. Keep it as a wrinkle, but challenge Henning's limited cranium to throw in a pass play or two.

There's no shame in starting Basanez next week even if the worst happens. New Orleans will feast on the statue-esque senior citizen.

I disagree...I believe that Jake would have had at least 2 TD passes with this kind of running game to set up the play action passes. He's not the best QB in the league but, he's way better than Weinke. That should be obvious to everybody by now.

At the very least, the Saints will have go game plan for the running game next week. That's something that hasn't happened much this season.

BTW, I don't think you can blame Henning for the lack of passing today...that game plan has Fox's fingerprints all over it. He has no confidence in Weinke and decided to take his chances with a smash mouth running game and it worked.

I agree that Fox handed down the order to pound the hell out of the ball. The initial gameplan worked, so there was no need to make any adjustments at any point in the game. Had there been, Dano would have crapped himself.
