...he's just an assistant, but this is a HUGE get as assistant coaches go.

Here's his bio from Nebraska. http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=2&SPID=22&DB_OEM_ID=100&ATCLID=31346&Q_SEASON=2006

This part sticks out to me the most.
And here's the announcement of him coming to UNC to join Butch Davis as DL, Assistant HC and Recruiting Coordinator. http://northcarolina.scout.com/2/600177.html

For what its worth I mentioned this a possibility a while back. Also don't be surprised if Randy Jordan soon follows from Nebraska. Its just a matter of UNC releasing Andre Powell (current RB coach from the last regime)

Jordan is a former Tar Heel himself anyways.

Not that I believe it's that simple to judge recruiting but who has Nebraska had that's so good recently?

Not sure, but it can't hurt to have the "Nations top recruiter" when you've got an in home tomorrow night with the nations #1 HS player in Marvin Austin and now have a 5 Star RB coming in this weekend. With another 5 Star RB now in continual contact with UNC. UNC may not bring in any of them, but the hiring of Davis and the moves he's making is getting the top recruits attention.

I agree. After hearing Davis on Cowherd I can't see how he won't do good to great things there. His name alone is worth more than anything. Not to mention I'd imagine that any known up & coming position coach or coordinator or assistant would jump at the opportunity to get in on something with potential to make names.

OK, catch me up to speed, who has been retained? Is Browning one? And if so, has he been assigned to a different position? He was also prior recruiting coordinator, right?
Blake and Williams sound like solid additions.

As of now Browning is there, but the staff is in flux and its hard to say who for sure goes and who stays. Davis has said the staff won't be final until end of the year. Brock was the former recruiting coordinator.
