So did everyone who's ever been drafted. Jeff Lewis had potential. He sucked. Cade McNown sucked. Ryan leaf - sucked. Tim Couch sucked. The list is much longer than those who succeeded.

Delhomme has succeeded. Weinke has not.

You can compile a list of the ones he didn't make too, right?

Damn shame how I'm a dumbass because I don't agree with you.

what he did in that time:
    Super Bowl
    NFCC
    Pro Bowl
    14 comeback victories
best winning percentage of any QB we've ever had
more TD passes than anyone we've ever had
    more yards...
and at one time the NFL's 3rd all time QB rating in the playoffs.

I know. Nothing happened at all to suggest he was anything more than the career backup he'd been. Nothing whatsoever.

Nice work arguing the minutae (poorly) while utterly missing the overall point and standing on nothing more than "you're biased" and "dumbass".

Jake wasn't having a good year before he got hurt. You sitting there pretending any of us think he was a world-beater, or unquestionable, or perfect, just shows your problems, not anyone else's.

keep up. This is what he's saying - he did those things because he's got talent. Not because he has heart. You're not disputing that, but you're also not getting it, so maybe we'll repeat it a few times and then you'll address it.

Dude...you'll never get it. You'll hang on Jakes nutsack until he retires....I just hope the staff is wise enough to start looking now instead of later.

I can’t imagine (okay, I guess i can) the panthers FO wouldn’t be prompted to bring in an established, one time starter at the very least to backup Jake. If Delhomme ends the year in his current “slump” they would be unwise not to bring in a better proven insurance policy than Weinkster.

BTW - you can count on them NOT drafting a QB, unless he's a 6th or 7th maybe . . . our staff don't roll like dat

I'd imagine the staff is always looking. Who was available this past year that would have been better? Brees - and he was a big risk.

Who else - nobody. Kitna. Harrington. Culpepper.

As hard as it is to find an imperfect player like Delhomme - it took this team almost a decade - it's a HELL of alot harder to find a better one.

Who's available this offseason - that the 'wise enough to agree with you' staff should pursue?

    Nobody.

I can complile a similar list for every quarterback.

His successes outweigh his failuers. He's won. He's reached more success than any other Panther's quarterback.

Your point is that, in crunch time, he doesn't have the physical talent to win.

And my question is how did he post the stats he has, have the playoff success he's had, if that's true.

But according to Hammer, Delhomme and Weinke are equal. So might as well bring in someone to compete with Weinke and cut Delhomme, since he cost more than Weinke and is the same.

Hammer - this is what your belief is, correct?
