    1. they cannot run the football
    2. the defense is not even close to being dominant-

and we thought that they were good and deep at most postions to start the season. The run game had better get better in the offseason or else the Panther's will be a mediocre team like they've been for most of their existence. I personally don't have any confidence in Foster as our featured back. I'm all for promoting D. Williams and look to bring in a big, short yardage back.

Agreesome. But I don't think Foster's the problem, I think it's the line. I wouldn't mind seeing Williams the starter though b/c it can't hurt.

Weinke would be a better backup if we could run.

And the defense - we lost Morgan and 4 deep at corner.

"Feed the stud" became the thing, unfortunatley were built as "run the ball, stop the run" = identity crisis.

poor personnel decisions depleted our strength and depth on defense.

we went to far in wanting only "high-character, versatile, athletic draft picks who came from major programs and started foree seasons"

    Take your pick
    • Can't run the ball consistently
    • Can't stop the run consistently
    • Have no killer instinct
    • Piss poor special teams play
    • predictable offensive play calling
    • suspect at best FA signings

    1. Losing 40% of the OL on opening day
    2. Steve Smith missing the whole preseason and the first two games
    3. Dan Morgan going out in game one (he usually plays at least eight games)
    4. Dan Henning's offense failing to adapt to the personell that were available, the run game was basically lost when Wharton and Hartwig went down.
    5. Lack of quality players at safety. This has hurt our defense and led directly to a couple of losses
    6. Not finding a decent pass catching tight end and integrating him into our offense.

Jenkins giving at least 10-15 yds to the opposing offense each game this year

Now, now. Let's be fair. They are consistently bad.

i took the bino's to the game today and watched the panthers front 4 do very little. there were a couple of bright spots but the giants line held them off damn good for much of the game. very surprised at the lack of effectiveness from that group.

on the other side of the ball i kept going back to the gross/umenyora match-up. that guy is quick.

They made no effort to run the football. I think Fox has given into Henning, who wants to throw short passes all day. You run up nice totals that way, but DONT WIN, or even look competant.
