We hear from religious people that if Hollywood would just make movies for them, they'd go to more movies. But "The Nativity Story" has been pretty much a flop. Any ideas why?

Poor marketing? I've heard very little buzz about it, and seen NO ads anywhere. People need to know it exists if they're going to go see it.

Seems the unmarried actress playing the Vigin Mary got knocked up in real life.

I haven't seen it or heard too much about it. I think one reason not too many people are going would be that, this is being played out everywhere this time of year. I mean you could go to your own church for free to see this. i think i might watch it when it comes on pay-per-view but i like to see movies at the theatre when it's like really action packed and deserves a big big screen to really appreciate it.

Has anybody here seen this movie? in this movie, who did they say Jesus was?

It's a great Christmas movie. Pretty Biblical. I loved it. Music was good, showed what a tough thing it was for Mary and Joseph.
They said Jesus was the Messiah. The girl who played Mary did an awesome job. I would recommend it, would be fantastic to see it Christmas Eve.

Could be because most Christians tend to avoid the theater anyway. Very few movies have the content that Christians want to see, thus, they are out of touch about what movies are playing.

    Just a thought.

Because the rabbis didnt come out in droves denouncing it creating a controversy.

That Mel Gibson knows how the market his movies.
