    And here's why. They both had coaches that were decent and the fans were happy that they weren't "great". They both had a tough time filling the position and you've got to think part of the problem is the coaches not willing to face the unrealistic expectations of the fans.

    shula got fired because he wouldnt make any changes. he isnt an oc and refused to beleive it.

    pretty much the way it happened. make changes or burn the road up. think at first he was ok with iit but then changed his mind.

    At NC State, Amato had totaly lost the fan support and for that matter Shula at Alabama. I think Amato had to go because the program had been in a steady decline over the course of the last several seasons. At Alabama, I still think Shula deserved another season. The BAMA brass thought the world would shit their britches and beat a path to their door for the job. They have found out that such is not the case. Their perception of the Alabama Football Program is quite different that the perception among the coaching fraternity,

    My bad. Sendek got a shitty deal. Yeah, for that matter they are the same. Both Shula and Sendek got the shaft because of the Aumni being over anxious and unrealistic.
