Ya, I think Ramirez stays now. No way Boston gets back 50% of the his value if they trade him. If he does stay, that's a hell of a lineup in 2007. Now if the pitching is worth a damn...

yeah,, I say you kiss his ass at every turn and hope the team keeps in first or second place all season to keep him enthusiastic,, I'm thinking because Manny is not an asshole personally the other players can put up with it without it costing team morale

those are the downsides for keeping him,, the upside is the SOB can flat out produce and there is really nobody Boston could pick up now that could come close to replacing Manny behind Ortiz and in front of Drew for the big pow in the middle of the lineup

plus even if he takes a "Manny break" every now and then he still plays as much as any superstar just for the reason he doesn't get injured much

starting line up now for me would be just a bit different than Grid's

    ****based on last year****

    leadoff-Lugo(SS)

    2nd-Youk(1st)

    3rd-Ortiz(DH)

    4th-Manny(LF)

    5th-Drew(RF)

    6th-Lowell(3rd)

    7th-Tek(C)

    8th-Crisp/Willy Mo(CF)

    9th-Pedora/Cora(2nd)

    starting Rotation

    1st-Shill

    2nd-Beckett

    3rd-Nippon Mat

    4th-Paplebon

    5th-Wake

    Relief

    Closer-Gagne?

    Taverez

    Lester

    Timlin

    Delcarmen

    Okajima

I know that Manny is a flake and there are plenty of people who think that he quit on the team last year, but there is no way in hell that you let him go on the cheap.

Anyone who watches the Sox regularly knows that there are stretches where he absolutely carries the team on his back.

I can't imagine why the Sox would want Gagne. Isn't he basically damaged goods now?

a lot of rumors have the Bo Sox paying a portion of his salary if they trade him as well. Kind of like the Phils did last year when they traded Thome away. Don't get near the value back in talent and also foot the bill for the better player on another team :saywhat:

Hope your right. Batting around Manny and Ortiz will do wonders for JD Drew

the Drew signing may about to get nasty. Dodgers may file tampering charges per Fox Sports.
