    its happened for sure, spurrier definatley has an offer from alabama. why do you think usc is throwing money at him?

    Spurrier had a team meeting today @ 4. Addressed everything with the players. Said he is NOT going to Alabama or Miami. He's planning on being at USC for the long haul. Even said this should help recruiting (got 2 commits yesterday and expect 3-5 more in the next week or so).

    And he IS getting a raise as well.

    You know his son transferred to USC and his daughter JUST moved to Columbia?

    I HAVE heard that RR IS being talked to and that Spurrier spoke to Bama about who HE would hire...

    Rivals and Scout. Plus I know a couple of people real close to the program.

    Hell...Packman on WFNZ was spouting off Rich R today. Said a good friend of his does a ton of stuff with RR. Told Pack to expect a final deal announced some time next week...

    Who knows. All I know is Spurrier is off the table.

    From what I hear the Spurrier rumors have died down a TON. From what a former Alabama player said it WAS all but a done deal, but fell apart. He ain't happy about being told by the Bama BOT that it was a done deal when it wasn't.

    According to USC players Spurrier didn't totally kill rumors in order to use it in recruiting. He's been telling guys...Alabama wants us (he and his staff), Miami wants us...we're turning down tons of money to be HERE. Certainly you'd want to be at USC as well.

    Seems all the NEW rumors are focused on Rodriguez.

    Don't believe everything on them. First rule is only go to ones you have to pay to be a member of. Then...after 6 months or so...only read the posts from the guys you know are IN the know (high school coaches, ex players, big boosters, etc...). Once you got that figured out and you've MET the people in person...and they call you or email you with information or to just shoot the shit...well that's different than going to the free for all boards and reading every post.

    Plus it's fun. :waving:
