It appears that this is one more thing the Bible isnt clear on and that many religions cant seem to agree on.

I was always taught that Mary Magdalene was the one Jesus prevented from getting stoned. This appears to be the Catholic stance. Apparently were supposed to believe that woman, plus the Mary that had the demons cast and Mary of Bethany are all the same person.

However some believe they are all different people.

In Gibsons Passion of the Christ it is Mary Magdalene who was supposed to get stoned. With is also the same Mary in the Last Temptation of Christ.

Disagree with the former, agree with the latter.

The Bible singles out at least four different and distinct Marys:

Mary, Jesus' mother and wife of Joseph
Mary, Martha's sister and brother to Lazarus
    Mary, James' mother
Mary Magdalene, from whom Jesus cast 7 demons.

I'm fairly certain that the only account of Jesus sparing the adulterous woman is in John 8, and no name for her is given. Although I shared the misconception that the woman from John 8 was MM, I'm not really sure where that conclusion came from. It certainly has grown into the default perception, though, hasn't it?

I never saw The Last Temptation of Christ, but I'll have to re-watch POTC. I remember the woman in that scene being blurred out beyond the point of recognition, but I could be wrong.

I didn't think the movie was too bad. The only way they could have made it better is to make it longer and if you weren't into the "historical" part of it, it was already too long. The book was better, but most are.

it was allright. Good, interesting, etc. I think people just expected more from Tom Hanks and Ron Howard.

I actually liked the movie more than the book, which is rare for me.

Finally saw this last night. I agree with the above critique. The book was way better. The movie didn't flow all that well. It seemed like seperate scenes placed together that just didn't mesh. No character development either.

The movie didn't do the book any justice. The movie was terrible. I guess if you didn't read the book first you might not be dissappointed but I hated it.
