Panthers and Redskins Running Commentary

I am in Miami still so I did not get to see the game, and thank goodness. 13 points is all I needed to see. WTF is wrong with our offense? We will not make the playoffs. We suck.

 

Don't be so sure about not makeing the playoff.If Philley lose tonight we will have a game lead over everyone for the 6th seed.Saints will lose next week and we will win NEXT MNF

No. I'm saying that we didn't get as many carries as you would have liked (although we did rush the ball 25 times) because we couldn't convert through the air. It does cut both ways, though. Some of those 3rd downs would have been easier had we run the ball better on 1st down, but we definitely tried to run the ball.

Holy shit dude. Im not saying we should have run more, should have passed more, Im saying we should have had more BALANCE, and should have attacked much smarter than what we did. THAT part of it isnt debatable. IF you want to tow whatever line you want to tow on Henning, go ahead. THe truth is the truth. Funny thing, its not hard to see, but for whatever reason, you arent taking my point. You come on here and act as if I said its all on Henning, which I didnt, you act as if Im giving the players a free pass, which I wont, and are trying to turn this post into an irrational Anti Henning post. Fuck that. What this really deals with, is that FSF called you and told you someone was mean to him, and you came to his rescue.



We didn't abandon it for a long stretch. We may have during on one drive during the 1st quarter, but we got a FG off of that drive.


FOr a long stretch? Again, its more of the gameplan that we ran, not how many times we passed or ran. It certainly shouldve been more balanced, but it wasnt. Oh well. We lost, our offense was terrible again, but Henning should be absolved of all the blame, because Delhomme had a bad day.

Well bullshit, B&B, you said if Carter had caught that pass, we would not be having this conversation. That implies he lost the fucking game. THen FSF comes out saying that Carter is paid money to play this game. Wow. It was very insightful, because now I know the defense plays for free. And you dragged the fucking Carter thing out.



I've also called out Gamble, Minter, Jake, the officials, and even Henning in certain instances.

Dont defend the guy so blindly that its a "thing" when you call him out. Gamble played well today, as did Minter. They both blew a play, THE play that gave them the lead. But for the brunt of the game, they played well. Sure, they get blame, but they didnt, for three quarters, do their jobs terribly.


And it was definitely not one of the better defended pass of the entire game. If you have TiVo, look again. Carter was in front of his man, got a good jump, but the ball went right through his hands and hit off of his helmet.


I looked at it again, B. The guy got his arm RIGHT THERE. Carter lost his vision, BECAUSE of the arm, and dropped it. It was a makable catch, but had he caught it, it would have been a difficult one. THe corner was right there. The ball was slightly underthrown, and he caught up. I do fault Carter for not making the spectacular catch, but Im not going to bag him for dropping a pass that our stars mightve dropped as well.


Was it an easy catch to make? No, but he definitely had a chance to make the play, and there was really nothing that Rogers did to break up the pass.[/quote]

no one ever said it is all on henning. but over the years the playcalling has been very suspect and very uncreative. yes the players have to execute better, but when the playcalling is so preditible that the defense pretty much knows what is coming (draw on 3rd and long) it makes it that much more difficult to execute. henning has had some good times with the panthers but i just think it is time for new ideas and calls. if henning is just doing what fox wants then maybe both need to go because the panthers should be so much better than this with the players we have. i like what fox has done but at this point i am just sick of losing games to inferior teams when they should be beating them soundly. if it takes a new oc to get things right then i am all for it. also i like jake but this year in particular he has been very inacurate and made throws into coverage when usally there is someone else open. he has always made dumb throws and all but he seems to be making alot more of them this year.like i said earlier there is enough blame to pass around but over the years hennings playcalling has just frustrated me the most. thats my 2 cents and i am sticking to it.
