Passes were too high all day.

 

Either way, we lost. It was as pathetic performance on offense as Ive seen in a while. THis team isnt smart enough, tough enough, or well coached enough to deserve to be3 in the playoffs. I suppose its possible that we limp in there because other teams lose, but I doubt even that.

We certainly dont deserve to be in there, and the fact that we cant ever win in Washington? Thats pretty sorry. BUt to come in unprepared? Thats even sorrier.

 

UNC is right that Delhomme has been rancid all day. He has his hand in it as well. BUt were no better coached than Atlanta, and that doesnt help either.

 

I'll go ahead and blame both JD and Henning. On that 4 downs before we got the ball back, third down draw? Sure, you're expecting to get a 4th down call, but you aren't going to get enough on 3rd. And then on 4th, you call routes under 5 yards when you're 4th and 6?

And of course, Jake was off today. Catchable or not, he was high on some balls, both during the day and late (Carter at the sideline, for instance), and threw that late pick away from Smitty when it looked like Key was open in the slot.

We needed the first down, Key had that if thrown to. We went to the deep ball too much, when it never worked, and I'll blame the playcall AND the throws. Those throws were crap, and the thing is, our deep balls do NOTHING at all to help get our men open. When you're going PA, and not sending more than 2 guys into patterns, you're going to have triple coverage.
The last throw aside (which wasn't smart in playcall or throw, either), we threw deep 5 times more than we needed, none for positives. We needed to sustain drives, so we could keep running, so we could keep controlling the game. And we didn't.

 

Agreed. Its one thing to be inaccurate all day, the last throw is freaking inexcusable. I guess he thought Smith would bail him out like he did all of last year.

there is alot of blame to pass around, but i am more pissed at the playcalling than anything else. what other team in the nfl would run on 3rd and long with the game on the line? if we dont have a new oc next year we will never win anything. is henning just that fucking dumb or what?
