Next Head Coach at Iowa State? Big name that program needs if they want to try to compete with the Big 12 South.

Dan McCarney...Michigan State? He may not be the head man, but I expect him to end up in the Big 10. He had a couple good years at ISU, I think they should have given him another year or two. Just can't recruit for shit in Ames.

He is doing a good job at San Diego, he'd be a solid coach somewhere.

Good coach, and he did briefly have NFL coaching experience with Oakland, under Callahan. Wouldn't be a bad hire.

ISU reportedly interviewed Harbaugh and Nebraska Asst. Pellosi this week. Harbaugh might be wise to see what other offers come his way, no doubt he's due some good ones with what he's done with a no scholarship team going 10-0.
Harbaugh is the name, but Pellosi is the more likely candidate. ISU will have trouble getting the name thay need because they are after all ISU.

McCarney is a top notch coach, he just needs to get to a program where he can recruit. He was never able to set up shop in any specific recruiting areas. One year it was Texas, the next Florida, the next the East. After losing 15 in a row to Iowa, he lead 5 straight victories and two years later he's out...doesn't seem fair to me.

Yes, scholarship I-AA's do play somebody. USD played Azusa-Pacific, Dixie State, etc. Yale was their only "quality" win.

09/09/06 vs. Dixie State San Diego, Calif. W, 41-7
09/16/06 at Yale New Haven, CT W, 43-17
    09/30/06 at Davidson Davidson, NC W, 50-21
10/07/06 vs. Butler San Diego, Calif. W, 56-3
10/14/06 vs. Valparaiso San Diego, Calif. W, 68-7
10/21/06 at Drake Des Moines, IA W, 37-0
10/28/06 vs. Morehead State San Diego, Calif. W, 44-21
    11/04/06 at Jacksonville Jacksonville, Fla. W, 38-21
11/11/06 vs. Dayton TV San Diego, Calif. W, 56-14
11/25/06 at UC Davis Davis, Calif. 1:00 p.m. PT
12/02/06 Gridiron Classic West Long Brach, NJ TBA

If you can't see the difference, you are a fool.

yeah, I only see one team that even qualifies as halfway real on ol' App State's schedule there, and it also looks like there's an L next to it. You shouldn't throw stones in your glass house.
