Whoever posted that at TDD said this:

Which is what I was responding to. Because they pretty much DID match that level of non contact.

The RECORD (not level) he was speaking of was not committing a single shooting foul.

    He was correct.

Definately not a dominant performance, almost down right sloppy at times, we've got a long way to go to meet pre-season expectations. UNC needs to run their offense, there was a lot of standing around looking, IMO against the zone you need dribble penetration, then kick it out or drop it off, we were doing what they wanted, which was throw the ball around the perimeter. UNC's free throws were horendous, and once again defense and rebounding need to improve. #12 was the only guy putting it in the basket for Winthrop, and we were just lettin' him shoot, double him, throw some different looks at him, do something, that F'er was lightin' us up. Officiating was horrible, pro-Winthrop refs. "Hater" is right, the only reason UNC won that one was b/c of our depth, we're young, Ty Lawson's performance was not as good as the game before, kind of felt like a loss walking out of there b/c of all that bullsh*t we displayed on the court. Oh well, we won, I'll take it, but improvement is necessary.

No, he wasn't. He was saying that they could not hope to match this record of non-contact, not this record of shooting foul non-contact. And he was not saying that they could not break it, but could not match it.

When, in fact they have come very close to matching it. Two is definitely greater than 0, but as it relates to shooting fouls in a basketball game, it is not signiifcantly different.

It is hugely significantly different in a blowout and a close game where the team that didn't shoot a single shooting foul led most of the game.

like how the tarheel fans are justifying their team's incompetence by heaping praise on Winthrop. A decent team would have blown Winthrop out of the gym. Instead, UNC has to be rescued by the referees.

That may be, but in that case, the number of fouls being called does not matter, only the difference in the totals.

A lot of people like to compare 2005 Tarheels and this year's Tarheels. Only difference is 7 of the top 8 players in the rotation (only 8 people who really played) were juniors and seniors. only other player was freshman Marvin Williams. UNC and Duke will look a million times better in March because they are playing so many underclassmen, but I think people are assuming in the media that they are just going to roll through the whole schedule early on.
