I don't like how they lump all Baptists into the same category as the NC Baptists. The NC Baptists are basically SBC baptists. There's a whole other set of baptist churches that want nothing to do with SBC.

There are two problems I see with this proposal.

    1. The SBC apparently can't tell the difference between behaviors and people. Rejecting homosexual behavior is Biblical. Rejecting homosexuals is not.

    2. The opposition is right -- it's not Biblical to isolate or spotight one particular sinful behavior. God doesn't, so what gives the SBC the authority to do so? Why aren't they as vigilant about divorce? Alcoholism? Fornication? Gluttony?

This is just one of several reasons I cannot stand the SBC.

I would welcome and encourage gays to attend my church but I would not allow the to join the church unless they accept Christ and doing that would necessitate that they reject gay behaviour. I suppose the view they have of their own sin is more important than the sin itself. We are all sinners it is only our admission of it and our forgiveness that makes christians any different. I would also not allow any other sinner who openly refuses to admit his sin to join my church. Whatever the sin is, you can not be forgiven for it if you do not admit that it is in fact a sin.

    Y'all miss this part?
I got no problem with them condemning the behavior. It's not like I'm rushing out to join anyway.

It all comes down to whether you think being gay is a sin. If being gay is a sin, then being gay is a choice. That just doesn't make sense.

I didn't, but apparently the SBC did. They're rejecting churches for accepting people who are gay. Bloody hypocrites.

Why don't churches just welcome anyone and everyone? Why all these requirements to get into someone's church? If you believe God knows all, then why must you require them to confess to you?
