I got lower level tickets. Hopefully, the Eagles at least give them a fight.

They looked good, I'm glad they won, the crowd will be really into it (until UNC rolls right over them). They had that one guy who was stealing and dunking the ball, plus, I think I might have a chance with their cheerleaders, pick me up a Rock Hill cutie!

Winthrop isn't all that bad. I don't think they'll win or anything but I bet they make UNC work real hard early in the season. Marshall is a really good coach. Surprised he hasn't gone anywhere better.

I have Nothing against Wintrhop i hope that they make it to the big dance this year. With that said i wish they would have lost toinght. So UNC could have play Iona and Beat Iona by 60.it not normal for the Heels to lose to such a bad team like Iona. And on Dec 27 2002.They beat us by 9.In that game we lost Sean May for the season.Btw scenes that time UNC has not play Inoa.

Why? He's got a pretty sweet set up there. Winthrop has a great campus, good facilities for a smaller school, Rock Hill is a good place to raise a family, and he's got a good overall situation.

From everything I've heard, he genuinely likes it there - and I really can't blame him.

But you're right - he is a damn good coach.

He got hired...and accepted the College of Charleston job. BIG pay raise. Then he changed his mind the next day. CofC hired Bobby Cremins. The same guy that said YES to USC...then changed his mind...then USC got Fogler.

Everyone at USC was saying Marshall pulled a Cremmins on them.

I hope Winthrop beats the shit out of UNC...that would rule.

    But it won't happen.

Winthrop is a small school. Any coach would take a job in any major conference over a small school for the chance to play night in and night out with major conference competition. CofC is still a small school in a small conference and would be a step below Winthrop

That Iona team was pretty good I thought. Weren't they like a 13 seed in the tourney?

damn we're young. really had to fight back vs. winthrop. say what you will, winthrop is a dancer and could go again this year. i'd like to see more perimeter ability and a more patient offensive mentality. still early though. damn we're young.
