I'll be glad when people realize materialist atheism and 31 flavors of monotheism are not their only choices.

I had a friend once, a biology PHD, that said that the more she learned the more amazed she was in God's creations. Interesting way to look at it.

    :agreed:

People are far, far too limited in their thinking, regardless of where on the spectrum their beliefs fall.

And FWIW, hardcore atheists are just as arrogant about their beliefs as hardcore religious folks are. :twocents:

    So do hardcore fundies :)

One of the things this article reminded me of was the questioning attitude I've had ever since I can remember. Even as a small child, I would, for instance, look at an ant & think, "I wonder how the world looks to him? I wonder how I look to him? And I wonder what kinds of things there are that would seem as big to me as I do to that ant?" Getting into scientific knowledge later on, discovering micro-organisms, just reinforced that sense of wonder in me. Human beings might be cells or micro-organisms to some other aspect of the universe. Just as our cells can act without our conscious direction, we might be part of something else that doesn't consciously direct our behavior.
