I don't like garnish either, but I brew and drink from brewed that have fruit in them and they're damn good. Thing is, maybe I'd listen to the manlaws if they didn't fucking put rice and filler in their own malt.

their stuff is supposed to be a killer...them and Bell's in PA, and neither are widely distributed enough to get here.

made my annual trek to Beers of the World in rochester a week ago to pick up my holiday stash. got the old standby imports -- Chimay Blue, Gulden drak, sammie smiths -- but made an effort to try some new domestic micros. One was Tripel Crown ale, made by Middle Ages Brewing Company in Syracuse. 10 percent ABV and very smooth. will have to go back it seems. got an IPA from Ithaca Brewing, just for kicks. not expecting much.

ever tried Stone's Ruination IPA? I have a bottle set aside for sat. nite.

also, if you haven't had it, you gotta try Old Engine Oil (Harviestoun Brewery, scotland). just a great, great beer.

Tripel Crown's good. Did you see Allagash or Ommegang? They both do awesome Belgian.

We don't get Stone down this way. Or Bell's. It's got me a little motherfucking angry.

I went to the beer store before the Sabres game last week. I was in a hurry to get from Rochester to Buffalo and had my daughter with me. I usually spend a good hour in there, minimum, but had to run. kinda just picked shit off the shelves that sounded good. they had tons of Stone. I had a bottle of Double Arrogant Bastard in hand and put it back for the Ruination IPA. Didn't see Bell's. I gotta go back up, sans daughter, and do it right. there is one aisle that's nothing but saranac on one side. hard to believe Matts brewery makes that stuff (if you've ever had Matts beer, you know what I'm talking about. we used to drink that from party balls when I was a kid. $12 per ball). You ever had the Chimay? if not, get some. one bottle is all it takes to get you right. blue label, not red.
