Our Fans Suck

While I'd love to see fans stay, there are different reasons folks leave. People who don't care, just go because they're not really there to see the game anyway. The folks behind us came after kickoff and then left their seats before halftime, came back for a couple minutes and then left for good. Why bother coming. I'll assume they were local because I sure wouldn't drive to Charlotte to see less then a half of football. Others are "real fans" but I can understand if you really love your team and they toss out a stinker like that, it hurts. I was thinking after the second or third turn over that I didn't want to see anymore of the game, but I don't leave - but that's my choice and Sunday night I sure wouldn't fault anyone for leaving. I agree, empty seats and silence - aside from the loud Cowboys fans, gets a message across.

 

Honestly people, lets just drop it. Here is Arrowhead Stadium which is considered by many to be second only to Lambeau Field as NFL mecca and where fans are annually regarded as the best and loudest in the NFL. This was a gorgeous Sunday afternoon in September of 2004. The temps were perfect, and remember that Missouri is central time zone so they get an extra hour overus east coasters to do things in the afternoon. The first shot is 6 minutes to go in the game. Do not let the red fool you, look close and see the lots of empty seats and people in color coded shirts walking up and down the aisles. Look at the yellow seats, those are clubs and they empty out just as fast as silver does here. The second shot is with 21 seconds to go. This should address Collin's comment on the emptiness of seats with time left on the clock.

It is Tuesday, lay the hell off the fans already....

 

I'm not knocking anyone that stayed or left, but why would you stay?

I was so pissed off, and we weren't coming back to get in the ball game, I just couldn't stand it anymore.

I know about the team loyality and all, but if the team doesn't seem to give a shit, why should I? Doesn't make me any less of a Panthers fan, I was just done for the night.

 

franchises probably couldn't care less if you leave early. They already got your money anyways.

 

I think it's more about making the franchise look bad than anything else. Fair or not, you get labeled as a bad sports town when you do things like Sunday night or the shenanigans that went on in the stands during 2001. I know some people are genuinely diehard Panthers fans whether they leave early or not, but I also do think that Charlotte is a bad sports town.

 

I can see how you can argue that you can be frustrated and want to leave but to turn it around and ask why you would stay is absurd. I stay becuase I am a fan and I paid to watch the game. I don't care what other teams fans leave early. They suck too.
