Tied up at 17, going to overtime...playing in Statesboro is always tough.

App. State wins in double overtime, 27-20. Dodged a bullet. Damn.

Next week, Furman at App. State.

And Furman dodged a bullet, beating Chattanooga in OT also.

This may be App's game next week, though. We've got a QB and two RBs out with injuries, starting a rookie at QB.

    Freshman?

Did the freshman start or the regular QB? Sorrells a freshman came in for a few plays for the starter Gray. I don't really think it would have mattered if Ingle Martin would have played today. The Apps outmanned Furman for most of the day. It's rare that a Paladin team looks as rattled and confused as they did today. If I heard right the previous seven meetings at been settled by a total of twenty one total points, thats three per game. If ASU stays healthy, and doesnt overlook any of their games, they may well be back on their way to Chattanooga to defend their crown. One game note from today: The two starting QB's were first cousins, Gray and Edwards, their mothers are sister's.

Gray was back, for the first time in 3 weeks. App State was clearly the better team yesterday. However, they had some help from the refs. That should've been a touchback (which led to the safety) and the App State secondary was getting away with mugging the Furman receivers all day long. But I think App would've won regardless. Look out for the Citadel next week, though. Their record may not look great, but they almost upset us last week and they just beat GA Southern at GA Southern. App State can take them if they are disciplined and take them seriously, but the Citadel is playing hot right now and can deal an upset if App let's their heads get big after this win.

Why did you not mention the fumble during your ONLY scoring drive? FU maintaining possession was a bad call.

I suppose the refs held your offense to ONLY 32 yards in the second half.

How about Bobby's headset-kicking, hat-throwing tirade? Not worth mentioning? He should have gotten a delay penalty, like he did last year when he did the same exact thing.

Furman should not have scored at all. The drive which resulted in the score should have ended with the fumble that was not called. Replay clearly showed the ball was loose before the runner was down.

    Like I said before

well, sorta, they allowed your secondary to get away with lots of junk which prevented conversions.

You all have an excellent D-line, particularly those two DEs.

Considering the call the refs just made prior to it, I consider their failure to not call a penalty on Lamb telling...
