A rumor among idiots, and in any case, you're the only one who keeps bringing it up. It illustrates just how stupid you are, so I'd suggest not repeating it any more.

    No “Formal” Committee

Dick Baddour has stated that a formal search committee will not be named. That does not mean he won’t be receiving lots of guidance and input – from those inside and outside of Chapel Hill. The involvement of coaching search broker Chuck Neinas is already well known and acknowledged by Baddour.

The person Baddour may rely on most heavily within Chapel Hill could be Paul Fulton, an UNC alumnus with an impressive background in the business world, serving as president or CEO of corporations such as Sara Lee, Hanes, and Bassett Furniture. He’s the co-chair of the “Carolina First” campaign, and former Dean of the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC. Indications are he is heavily involved in the coaching search.

But the word is that another name familiar to UNC fans has also offered to advise in the search – former UNC head coach Mack Brown. Neinas and Brown are friends, and Neinas was instrumental in the move Brown made to Texas from UNC. Why would Brown be so helpful in this situation? There is some mutual interest between Brown and some powerful allies in Chapel Hill for Brown to move into the Athletic Director’s chair at some point in the future. Brown isn’t ready to leave coaching, and there is no vacancy in the AD position at UNC, but at some point in the future both of those factors will change. When it does, expect Brown to be a strong candidate for that position.

How much of a role Brown might have is an open question, but one source has indicated that Brown has supported a close look at Tulsa coach Steve Kragthorpe. There are a lot of indications that Kragthorpe is being looked at favorably in the early stages of the search.

Petrino wouldn't leave Louisville for UNC.

Even though I think there's no way he'd go to UNC the Rodriguez rumors are actually getting stronger, rather than going away like I expected. Also Brown rumors are dying down because he wants a $0 escape clause for in the future. Any school would be foolish to not have some sorta money compensation if their coach was gonna bolt to a larger school.

    Brown? Or Davis...

BTW here in Greenville I heard the janitor at the hospital tell the transport person that Skip Holtz was on the short list at UNC. :schlacht:

Excuse me I meant Davis. Holtz isn't on ANY UNC list. UNC has to make a bit of a splash in the coaching pool, and Holtz isn't a big enough pebble.
