Looks like football isn't far behind basketball...was hoping the 'Thug' mentality would stay out of it, at least for the most part. :crap:

I've never really had anything against Miami, but I think that freak Lamar Thomas needs the shit kicked out of him. If whoever he was calling that game for didn't fire him, they ought to have the shit kicked out of them.

How did it sneak under the radar? It was all over the morning and evening NATIONAL news, espn, and all the newspapers. If anything, it got more coverage than it would have because of the basketball fight. Both schools suspended players for a game, and decided not to accept bowl bids. The main guy involved from Clemson who stomped on the guys head was a senior. There wasn't much else the school could do to him.

oh it made the news for a day, but nationally the Artest thing was talked about ad nauseum.for weeks on end. Im sure in Clemson and I know in Columbia its all they talked about it because thats the only thing either of those towns talk about. And both schools were right to decline bowl bids and suspend players. (as a result the Gamecocks went on a little crime spree but thats another story). they should cancel a teams season for a year the next time this crap happens.

49er is right, its FIU. have the canes slipped that far? remember you cant spell thug without The U

Nah...it was EVERYWHERE. Matter of fact, the Artest thing made it bigger. It was on Packman's show in Charlotte for months. CnnSi constantly.

I'd say the USC/Clemson brawl received MORE negative press than this one. Remember, BOTH teams were going to a bowl. BOTH schools, on their own, refused to let the teams go.
